Read To Us,Pawleez!

Intro by the Hooman Mama: Jazz and Kimmie had their first session at the Napa Public LIbrary. Jazz is a member of Therapy Dog International’s Tail Waggin’ Tutors Progam, and Kimmie (Rosie too!) is a member of Paws for Healing Paws for Reading Program. All three have VERY different personalities. Rosie will pawg after she begins next Friday. Our normal day is Wednesday from 3:30-4:30. Hope to see more Napa friends!

Hi Fwens. Kimmie here. Just an FYI I SAILED through my Therapy Dog Test. Mom and Dad were Sooooo pleased and pretty surprised since I can be a little…well sometimes, quite distrustful of new surroundings and experiences. I am just such a homebody. Nothing makes me happier than having my whole family with me in my safe little house and backyard.

SOOOO when Mom put me in the car the day AFTER I had a vet appointment I was very unsure this was going to be a fun time. She took me into this place with a lot of books. She asked me to sit with her on a blanket she brought, and kids came to say hi and read to me. OK, gotta be honest…if I were not getting a thousand pets and a zillion cookies I would have been outta there! I mean I really tried to do it for my Mom, but it took effort, let me tell you! After about 45 minutes, she saw the light go out inside of me and knew it was time to vamoose. I was happy to be home! She is taking me for mini visits now to help me realize a library is a cool place. TBD in my opinion….Woof!

Hello World! Jazz here. I just LOVE alone time with Mom. She drove me to a library. Unlike Kimmie, I have had years of experience with being a therapy dog. The place was new, but I understood what was expected of me. I was super friendly to everyone I met. You can see I was smiling A LOT! Mom was sitting by me, and I got a whole bunch of treats for doing what I do best. People kept saying how soft my fur is. I finished the hour no prob, and I must admit. I think I have some new fans. Those kids will be coming back. I hope they realize I am only there every third week unless Kimmie bugs out. I hope she hangs in there, though. It is fun to share my doggie love! Woof! Woof!
